Just like when working in an office, time for work and family needs to be set precisely. This is one of the shortcomings of working from home. Because sometimes the interests of both conflict and can easily cause stress.

Make your own rules

Especially for those of you who are not married, the rules must still exist. Disseminate to people around that at a certain time you cannot be disturbed because you are working. That way, the division of time remains balanced and well organized.

Put the more important things first

Working at home (work-from-home as a freelancer or full-time) does sound very beneficial and makes life feel lighter. However, you need to remain responsible for the work assigned to you.

With a policy of “working hours” that we can set to ourselves, this does not mean that all tasks are carried out at once to quickly finish or even be delayed. Before starting the day, make a list of priorities for which tasks are better completed first, and which ones can be temporarily ruled out.

Bottom Line

Work-from-home can be done effectively if both the company and employees are equally responsible. Both parties must understand more about the conditions that occur while providing the best performance possible, even though they are working in different places.

Do not forget to maximize communication to avoid things that are not desirable. Make good use of technology, make a list of things that you want to do and need to get done, also include the expected output or results. 2. This post was informative and well-written. The topic is relevant to what’s going on in the world today.

I think there are great benefits to working from home than people think. Sure, it has it downsides; but overall, it’s better health-wise (physical, financial, mental). Working from home has been around for awhile, but for many people, they’re slow to adjusting. But I think this pattern could be the new norm going forward. I’m looking forward to this changing trend as the years go by.

Thanks for sharing an excellent article.

  3. Hey there Ferra,

I have started working for home consistently for the past few weeks because of COVID-19, just like most of the people. I had worked from home sometimes before that, but It was usually ad hoc, for specific tasks.

I have to admit that I loved it! Working at home is really relieving and chain-breaking. No commute time. No time pressure. As you have said, I use the commute time for exercise and meditation. Technology allows me to keep In touch whenever I want. Virtual Meetings with colleagues. Chatting, and if needed a voice and/or a video call. And of course, much fewer distractions 🙂

In my company, we have to punch in the time we start and finish work, therefore we set our limits that way. I also use a specific room for work, which I enter only during working hours or to attend a teleconference or a webinar.

Thanks again for a great post!

    Regards,

    Marios

Yes, me too. My husband and I are both working from home. We do feel there are lots of advantages of being able to work from home. We just have to use a specific working space as you said in order to avoid getting distracted from things around the house (including kids). A private office room is great to have. 👍

      Stay safe,happy and healthy!
